Tom Walton is the Democratic nominee for Iowa House District 28--West Des Moines, Van Meter, Adel and surroundig area. He has dedicated his career to serving his clients and communities in the district. A native Iowan, he has lived near Van Meter for over 20 years. Graduating among the top 10 in his law school class, Tom has served individuals and companies in private practice and currently serves as General Counsel for an Iowa-based nonprofit company.
He is the immediate past Chair of the Dallas County Democrats and has chaired various non-profits, including a childcare academy that supports a minority community and an organization focused on civic engagement and leadership. His leadership experience extends to being appointed by both Democratic and Republican Governors to lead Iowa state boards and commissions that concentrate on criminal justice and public safety.
